Vancouver Musician, D.G. Adams, has been moved to clean and clear what’s been shoved under the rug amid heart-aching times throughout his album release, ‘The Old Heart’. Airing his frustrations over the cunning first track, “This Song Is Not True”, D.G. decides that he is no longer intrigued by anything short of authenticity as he lets the world know of an interpersonal relationship that is a source of misery rather than pleasure. “The World Closes In” is the second track which lyrically speaks of feeling closed in within an environment that no longer serves to benefit internal wellness and has been a torturous remnant that has led to unhappiness.
“F**k Life and F*** the World” is the third track in which D.G. speaks of an experience of addiction that has subconsciously sprouted an ill and pessimistic mind that finds zero joy in being amongst fellow members of society. “Disposable Friends” is the fourth track which begins with a 1970’s instrumental element and blasts into lyrical anger that inspires listeners to no longer settle for being an interchangeable commodity. The sixth track, “La Terraza”, begins with the vibe of a Phil Collins track that leads into a smooth Jazz element that creates a surprising dose of romanticism that is both unexpected and pleasing to the mind. “Mother” is the eighth track which highlights D.G’s vocal capabilities as he sparks the light within his kin and inspirits her to continue to rise above mediocrity no matter her physical age. The ninth track, “Walking”, is an engaging track that combines Rock and Indie instrumentation that simultaneously meets the modern listener and instills curiosity within a seasoned soul. Closing out with slow-burner, D.G. Adams seeks solace and ends with a vulnerable track that is unguarded and brutally honest.
Not only does D.G. Adams spill the beans of entire life for all to soak up throughout ‘The Old Heart’, he has also stepped up in a huge way and decided to donate all proceeds from the album to the victims of the Vegas shooting and their families.
