Asian-American pop/hip-hop artist Star2 releases his new single/music video, “Just Like Them Waterfalls,” the second single from his forthcoming album, Shooting Stars.
Star2 shares, “I love the islands – my fantasy getaway! This song is a romantic vibe to get us through the fall and dream of a dope vacation with a beautiful girl, sipping drinks, and enjoying paradise.”
Inspired by a once-in-a-lifetime connection that unfolds over the backdrop of an exotic island soundscape, the video, directed by Chico Bennett, immerses viewers in images of flowing water as Star2 and his lover journey through luxurious palazzos and gorgeous landscapes, followed by diving into a beautiful waterfall.
Born in a Thai refugee camp where he was forced to flee genocide by the Burmese Army in Myanmar, who burned his village to the ground, Star2 won a lottery in the refugee camp that allowed him and his grandmother and her four children to relocate to San Diego.
In SoCal, Star2 connected with producer Chico Bennett and collaborated with rappers such as Soulja Boy, $tupid Young, Mozzy, MBNel, Luh Kel, Lil Poppa, HoodTrophy Bino, YSN Flow, and MarMar Oso.
When not performing and touring, Star2 documents his journey on YouTube, via the popular ‘Adventures of Star2’ channel. As an influential figure in Asian-American music, Star2 interlaces heartfelt stories with captivating visuals, chronicling a tale of resilience and ascent.
