Otherworldly Rhode Island Rockers, Space Motel, deliver a funky, soulful and sensual musical treat over their latest release, ‘Arrival’. Lead Vocalist, Jim Muro, emits a hypnotic touch of ecstasy that raises the hair on your back over the album’s second track, “Can You Use This”, as a variety of instruments compliment the track with precision and care. Slowing it down over the third track, “Don’t Lean”, the dudes of Space Motel make listeners feel as though they are musing upon life and love at a Florida Margarita bar while sipping away surrounded by friends and good vibes.
It is both compelling and necessary to do what is best for your wellbeing within your one short lifetime, and “Blackwoods” takes listeners to the other side over a track that speaks to your core about life in the wild and the peacefulness that can come from taking the risk of living an alternative lifestyle. The fifth track, “Unexplainable”, is a lyrical capture of how humans preconceived notions can dizzy up the present and steer them clear from being able to witness the gift of what is available within connecting from the heart rather than the calculating mind. It’s easier to crush your petals and get trapped in cyclic routine than it is to explore the prospect of your bleeding roots.
The soothing piano over the sixth track, “Way Home”, adds a touch of elegance that leads into an emotive instrumental and lyrical expression of being lost in the trap of the mundane and working toward reformatting your internal dialogue toward the acknowledgement of all of the possibilities that this world has to offer and all that you can create for yourself along the way.
The seventh track, “Going The Wrong Way”, is the equivalent of the sun setting over a picnic on the beach as you reflect upon your journey through life so far and all that is to come. ‘Arrival’ closes with the ninth track, “It’s Not Over”, that is a ray of sunshine over days of distress as Space Motel lets their feelings off of their chest.
