Soul-Rock Band, Evan & the Live Oaks, have released their standout new EP, ‘Hyde Street’, which showcases that they are taking the high road along their Rock ‘N’ Roll journey. Between the revival of a magical old-school sound that enamored the airwaves in the late 70’s and palpable passion embedded into every line, the music of Evan & the Live Oaks is exactly what we all need to get through tumultuous times as their lyricism is a mixture of musings that are mixed with charisma and musings ahead of their time.
Kicking off with the first track, “On The Otherside”, Evan’s chops stand out from a crowd and mimic the likes of Eddie Vedder as he lyrically tells the tale of reaching a point of no return while reaching to overcome the sorrow and look forward to a brighter and more prosperous tomorrow. The second track, “Home”, strums into listeners hearts with versatile instrumental work and a distinctive lyrical energy that is linked to the cultivation of a new perspective that is sprinkled with positivity and creates an inquisitive world of no rules. Closing out with “Maybe Later”, Evan & the Live Oaks dish out flirtatious vibes over a modern and easy-listen that sends electricity through the room over instrumentals that meet the hearts of fans of Rock, Country and Blues.
Having a variety of experience under his belt, Singer/Songwriter, Evan Lanam, has dabbled into his musical curiosity ever since his youth which has led to touring extensively all over the states and having SXSW performances under his belt. There is a delicacy within Evan & the Live Oaks tendency to lyrically lay it all on the line, and it’s bands as such that maintain the spellbinding alchemy of music. If you’re a fan of fellow musicians such as Matchbox Twenty, Pearl Jam, CCR and Train, then check out Evan & the Live Oaks unique brand of soul on Bandcamp.
