Stemming from the City of Trees, Post-Alternative band, Ghost Color, are back for round two EP style with the upcoming release of ‘American Book of the Dead’. Kicking out with the beautifully composed and lyrically abysmal, “In Other Words”, Ghost Color emits a level of humble confidence with their musical abilities through beginning the EP with a subtle tone that is cunningly rich beyond the surface of what appears. Rounding to second with “Endeavour”, lead vocalist, Chris Winsted unleashes fire over a mysterious vocal tone that sends a message from the heart after a troublesome and eye-opening relational separation that carried facets of soul and love that inflicted immense pain into his veins.
The third track, “Stay Asleep”, kicks off with instrumentals that are reflective of ‘Adrenaline’ Deftones days and abruptly shakes your core with potent lyrical content highlighting the coma in which the individual on the receiving end of the dark message exists within while alive on Planet Earth. Closing out the EP with “Grieves”, Ghost Color takes a wicked deep dive into the rabbit hole of relational hell and picks up the pace to leave listeners in a state of anticipation for more.
Ghost Color knows the ropes of what it takes to truly stand out amongst a pack of wolves and their welcoming simplicity and delivery highlights their individual talent and abilities that have come together to bring to life the core and roots of what being a Rock band is all about. Standing out through a healthy dose of influential material that serves up a recipe for reflection and afterthought, the guys of Ghost Color share a celebratory attitude that can be celebrated at both an after-hours all-nighter or a moment of compelling solitude. Keep an eye out for the official release of ‘American Book of the Dead’ on May 30th, 2017.
