Florida Punk Rockers, ButchQueen and the Bad Habits, are the sassy bunch of independent thinkers and human beings who are set to make a splash with the upcoming release of their debut album, ‘Bare Grits’, which is set to drop next week on May 5th, 2018. We snagged an early copy to give you a dissection of what’s to come from the gritty band that is a musically inclined bundle of raw energy and fun.
Kicking off with the first track, “Mindless and Dull American Null”, the brawny bunch blast right off with a bold Punk-Rock edge that slows down into a socially conscious blast of lyrical reality which speaks of the utter truth when it comes to swallowing the American Dream pill which leads to missing out on cultivating oneself into a mindful individual beyond the typical. The second track, “Bare Grits”, instantly revs listeners’ engines with an instrumental punch that leads directly into lyrical wisdom that subconsciously states that it is only of your own benefit to get down to the nitty-gritty when it comes to communication and expression of oneself. “Devil Standing By” is the third track that slows it down into a cunning lyrical twist that leads listeners to challenge their own thoughts and quit being subconsciously taught what’s wrong and right by those who attempt to dim your light. The fourth track, “No Matter What They Say”, influences raising the overall voice of the individual while lyrically shoving the rash actions of hot-heads in office right in their face so they can face their systematically draining choices that are unfortunately drowning out the bigoted huddled masses. Closing out with “Whole World is Watching Me Blues”, ButchQueen and the Bad Habits end with lyrically spilling the beans on how we are all giving up every ounce of our privacy and in turn, succumbing to a life of internet piracy.
Iconoclasts and conscious rebels, unite: ButchQueen and the Bad Habits are here and eager to fight the good fight. Short and sweet with zero artificial detail, ‘Bare Grits’ is the Punk-Rock album that is not easy to define, yet draws the line on succumbing to a mere ounce of modern-day bullsh*t. If you’re a fan of fellow bands such as NOFX, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, The Bouncing Souls and The Clash, then keep an eye out for the May 5th, 2018 release of ‘Bare Grit’s by ButchQueen and the Bad Habits on Soundcloud.
