Portland Electronic Artist, East Forest, has transcended the known to create a chromatic world that is entirely his own. The multifaceted musician has teamed up with Keith Sweaty and has just released his latest dose of enlightenment within the Deluxe Edition of ‘CAIRN’.
Kicking off with the first track, “Fresh Start”, East Forest creates an aura of ambience as he grounds into the realization that he is entering a new chapter of his life while introducing listeners to what his desires consist of within the journey ahead. The second track, “Karmic Sequel”, is an instrumentally balanced creation of musical yearning in which East Forest reaches for a state of inner nothingness to clear the energy that he has collected along the way that no longer suits his core. “Carin” is the third track that lyrically dissects stepping into the unknown to embrace uncertainty that often leads to an expanded perception and the ability to step into another’s shoes without judgement. The fourth track, “Interval, #1”, is a short yet euphoric surge of bliss that subconsciously tells the tale of East Forest becoming clearer within. “Good Things to Come” is the fifth track that begins with darker instrumentals that lead listeners deep into the splendor of mystery that mimics mysticism as East Forest vulnerably dispels strong undertones of anxiety that creates a powerful human element that deepens his connection with his listeners.
The sixth track, “100 Arms”, picks up the pace and begins with the mixture of sophisticated orchestral music accompanied by Lo-Fi Dub as East Forest lyrically rises from slumber and recollects upon an experience that lead him toward a higher state of consciousness. “Tiny Choices” is the seventh track that sculpts and melds the bigger picture by dissecting remnants of hope and inspiration that have been collected along the way to bring together East Forest’s present-day kaleidoscopic picture of life. The eighth track, “Interval, #2”, creates the feeling of staring into nothingness on a rainy day and leaving behind habits that stand in the way of coming in contract with creative energy. “Snake Skins” is the ninth track that is abounding with positive encouragement which suits the modern-day over a lyrical spin influencing listeners to dance with their shadows and in time release what no longer serves their true essence. The tenth track, “Equatoreality”, begins with a dose of trance that mimics Richie Hawtin and leads into a seduction rush of of heat as East Forest pushes listeners into unexamined spaces and places within. “Higher Heights” is the eleventh track that leads listeners into the realization that once the mind is steadied, the cultivation of one’s inner foundation will lead to an infinite realm of inspiration. “Hearts Are Won” is the thirteenth track that gradually builds up and mimics the feeling of surrender that comes with cognitive and emotional freedom. Closing out prior to four remixes with “Second Nature”, East Forest brings to life a dense and innovative blast of Dub that is uncluttered and naturally grabs attention.
