San Antonio, Texas-based hard rock/metal outfit Westcreek unleashes their new single/music video, “Let Me Bleed,” via Wake Up! Music Rocks.
Guitarist John McKinnis explains, “‘Let Me Bleed’ is about messing up your life, either intentionally or not, and how to fix it. Sometimes we never realize the depth of our mistakes until someone we love is impacted. The choices and decisions we make now will affect more than just our lives. We hope our music will help alleviate some pain and lead to happier times.’
Formed in 2019, Westcreek is made up of Daniel Bas (vocals), John McKinnis (guitar), Eddie Nava (guitar), Michael Arocha (bass), and Rocko Cortez (drums).
Produced by Ramon Villareal, “Let Me Bleed” was recorded at Houston’s Dark Tone Audio and mastered by Ted Jensen.
“Let Me Bleed” follows on the heels of the band’s debut album, What’s Left of Me, released last year. Blending layers of precision instrumentation and honest lyrics, the album’s theme revolves around helping people overcome anxiety, depression, and loss.
Talking about ‘What’s Left of Me,’ McKinnis shares, “We want to help people get through their day so that when they listen to our music or come to a show, it will help them forget and find comfort.”
He goes on, “We will continue to help others because we have chosen to be vessels in any way we can to help people get through. Our message is simple: You are not alone; we are all one and are equal. Let’s rise and let the music do the healing.”
“Let Me Bleed” rolls out on spectral tones, followed by ramping up to muscular, locomotive guitars, giving the tune aggressive, viscous textures, at once shadowy and melodic. Arocha’s thick, pulsating bassline merges with Cortez’s pummeling drums to infuse the rhythm with a pushing, rampart-like pattern, simultaneously deliciously brutal and refined.
Bas’ tight, evocative tenor imbues the lyrics with timbres sizzling with intensity yet softened by subtle hints of tender melodicism.
“Let Me Bleed” sees Westcreek come into its own, offering brawny dynamics distinguished by a captivating sonic elegance. Westcreek will release three more singles through the end of the year. Their sophomore album is slated to drop in early 2024.
