House vocalist Pepper Gomez and producer Carpente release their latest collaboration, “Northern Lights (in your eyes),” a song about not simply seeing someone but looking closely, plumbing the depths of their soul and the fire within, and feeling astonished.
Pepper Gomez explains, “‘Northern Lights (in your eyes)’ captured by Carpente’s music on the track initially reminded me of the ‘Spill the Wine’ by Eric Burdon vibe. But ultimately, the vocals were inspired by when I saw the northern lights in Alaska a couple of years ago! There’s absolutely no doubt that the Tweaka Turner dub mix of the song captures that soaring feeling I had when the Aurora appeared in the night sky. In addition, this song is about when you look at someone and you instantly click with the fire you feel as you gaze into their eyes. No way to describe these peak moments that are amongst the best that life has to offer.”

In the mid-80s, when Chicago house music was unleashed on the world, Gomez won a record label contest with her remake of “Pushin’ Too Hard.” She followed with two releases on Sunset Records: “Electric Baile” with Master Plan and “Way To My Heart” with Matt Warren. Both songs charted on Billboard’s Dance Charts.
Later, Gomez started a successful company, followed by founding her flourishing label, Wake Up! Music Group.
Carpente, aka Kenny Carpenter, composes, produces, runs his own label, sings, and makes films.

Gomez’s voluptuous vocals and phrasing, at times on the verge of speaking, imbue the lyrics with phantastic, pensive timbres as she loses herself in the complex profundities of another person’s soul.
