Sharing her powerful back-tale through the arts, Zaritza has overcome the odds and embedded every ounce of her flesh and bones into a blissful musical journey in which her soul leaks through with grace within her recently released self-titled album.
Kicking off with the first track, “That Girl”, Zaritza takes listeners on an otherworldly and upbeat exploration from the outside looking in as she creates a lyrical representation of the inauthentic boxes that society have attempted to place her into. “Heart-Shaped Box” is the second track in which Zaritza serenades listeners with a mellowed ode to the Nirvana track in which her celestial energy is palpable and adds a touch of distinct simplicity to the classic track. The third track, “Diseased”, lyrically shoves the truth down a former lovers throat as Zaritza embodies a lighter version of herself that has thrown in the towel on anything that no longer serves her life’s purpose or deserves her time. “Flashing Lights” is the fourth track which highlights Zaritza’s sensual vocal prowess as she lyrically faces artificially safe elements and the lack of security within a sort of loving that is draining her of her precious life energy.
The fifth track, “Somewhere In Between”, instrumentally mimics a dialed-down version of a Massive Attack track in their “Paradise Circus” days as Zaritza lyrically exposes dark and unhealed psychological elements within a human being whose bloodstream once flowed with compassion, yet now has subconsciously built a heart made of venom. “Walk Away” is the sixth track in which the momentous feelings and emotions that sprout from suddenly losing another are lyrically brought into the light as Zaritza walks toward a level-headed demonstration of maturity. The seventh track, “Rocket Girl”, slows it down into a mindful ballad sharing the steps that she has taken to detach from an existential attachment that can only slow her progression as a human being moving forward. “Burn Into Me” is the eighth track which simmers with sin as a volatile mix of good and bad fills the space between two lovers yearning for one another. The ninth track, “Talk Show Host”, is an ode to the Radiohead classic that instantly haunts with echoed vocals that send listeners into an aura of mystery that is reaching for clarity and seeking a brighter existence. “Last Night” is the tenth track in which a romantic opening of piano-playing enamors as Zaritza prepares to face the final moments and experiences shared within a soulful interpersonal relationship. Closing out with “Crossroads”, Zaritza adds an element of Electronic into an enchanting track in which she sings endearingly in the language that represents her core.
As well-rounded and determined as they come, Zaritza has participated in a TEDx Conference highlighting her musical journey and is an example of an artist that is bound to create the world that she desires.
