Kicking off with the first track, “How Does It Feel?”, Ghostly Beard creates a similar initial instrumental psychedelic kick into the unknown akin to Pink Floyd within their ‘The Wall’ days which in turn morphs into a hefty dose of lyrical contemplation highlighting the feeling of recognizing your small place within our boundless world. The second track, “The Love in Your Eyes”, lyrically tells the tale of a shot at love with another human being that slipped through his hands yet in hindsight is perceived differently through time and deep thought that was put into the experience of the interpersonal interaction. “Gone” is the third track which slows it down and takes listeners into a world through the lens of a disciplined mind who has grown more mindful, caring and full of life over time. The fourth track, “Autumn Blues”, kicks off with the impression of being the perfect track for a blurry night out at a southern local bar with smooth and sultry instrumentals that tug at listeners souls and sets the tone for a memorable night of trekking into the unknown.
“Night Train” is the fifth track that is full of ease and begins by incorporating free-play that leads into a lyrical summary of a night shared with a fellow beautiful soul and Ghostly Beard’s spirit that he felt within on his way home. The sixth track, “Let Go”, begins by capturing the essence of a cool and breezy night under the summer sun as Ghostly Beard jumps into a lyrical spill of the emotions that he in encountering through losing the love of his life. “It Doesn’t Matter” is the seventh track that carries a snarky yet sophisticated instrumental tone and leads into lyrical spite pertaining to the highs and lows that come amidst separation. The eighth track, “9 to 5 (Barely Alive)” is an album highlight in which Ghostly Beard candidly lyrically speaks of the danger of succumbing to a life that doesn’t suit your core which in turn morphs into a redundant bore that sucks the energy out of your body, spirit and mind. Closing out with “Going Away”, the album ends on an instrumentally high and groovy note that keeps listeners intrigued by Ghostly Beard’s unique artistry over a track that is full of optimism and good vibrations.
Shrouded in mystery, Ghostly Beard is a talent that has set free his history and is actively creating a Rock ‘N’ Roll world that is full of mesmerizing instrumentals and deeply moving lyrical musings.
