Nashville-based heavy rock outfit Lydia’s Castle recently released their new single, “Search For You,” a song about overcoming loss. And it’s a brawny gem of a song.
Vocalist Tonya LeeAnne explains, “Search For You is about one of the greatest losses of my life, and I wanted to channel that pain into something creative that can be shared with others and help myself, the band and so many others know they are not alone. The great thing about music and good lyrics is that the listener can make the song their own, and become attached to it in their own way, which is exactly how I got into music, to begin with.”
Made up of Tonya LeeAnne, Cody Denton (guitar), and Jon Wysocki (drums), Lydia’s Castle was formed by Tonya and Cody to share their love for metal and hard rock, as well as an outlet for vulnerability and personal growth. In 2021, Jon Wysocki joined the lineup. Since then, Lydia’s Castle has been in the studio working on new music, including their forthcoming EP.
“Search For You” follows the band’s previous two singles, “Phoenix” and “Falling Into Place.” Lydia’s Castle has shared the stage with Diamanté, Renee Phoenix from Fit for Rivals, and If I Die First.
Lydia’s Castle’s objective is to encourage and inspire people to take their personal tragedy and build their own “castles” as they’ve built theirs during one of the most difficult periods in modern world history. Out of the ashes, the Phoenix never dies.
“Search For You” opens on emerging, swirling colors flowing into deep, powerful guitars riding a Jovian rhythm. Tonya’s superb voice, reminiscent of Hayley Williams crossed with Amy Lee, imbues the lyrics with electrifying timbres, at once nuanced and captivating. Tonya can sing!
Lydia’s Castle has it going on! “Search For You” pumps out gloriously muscular rock crowned by the nonpareil voice of Tonya LeeAnne.
