Louder Than Life 2017 hosted over 60,000 boisterous music fans Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st, making this year’s iteration of Louisville’s loudest music festival the biggest to date.
Finishing up the weekend were Sunday headliners Prophets of Rage, a recently formed “Supergroup” melding the talents of Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, B-Real, and DJ Lord.
Other notable bands performing at Louder Than Life 2017 included Incubus, who had not played Louisville in over a decade.
Five Finger Death Punch and lead singer Ivan Moody crushed the stage with a renewed vengeance.
Lacuna Coil brought the sanitorium.
Hollywood Undead debuted their new stage set up and some new tracks.
Nothing More clearly won over legions of fans a few years ago when they played Louder Than Life the first time, and those fans have been following them since. Whether it was a new or older song, the crowd clearly new the lyrics as they sang along with the band.
Part burlesque, part ritual, and all musical theater, In This Moment mesmerized the thousands who gathered before them.
Rob Zombie always puts on a great show, but seeing him anytime around Halloween is something special.
Lzzy Hale is back! She is sporting a sexy new look, but her band Halestorm hasn’t changed it’s kick-ass/in your face attitude and performance.
Eagles of Death Metal put on a happy go lucky performance worthy of their tongue in cheek name.
Tons of other bands took over the 3 stages throughout the weekend, including 8 bands we interviewed (coming soon to Tattoo.com). Those bands included: Mastodon, New Years Day, For We Are Many, Greta Van Fleet, Ded, Joyous Wolf, Starset, and Black Map. Stay tuned for all of these video interviews and pics of these bands coming soon.
