Nashville-based country singer-songwriter Jordan Moore releases his brand-new music video, “Damn Good Time,” celebrating the simple pleasures of life – “a backyard party, beer pong, and having a blast,” shares Moore.
He goes on to explain, “We were lucky to have the wide-open spaces of the outskirts of Nashville to capture the essence of the song and cut loose. I want people to play this song and think about getting together with their friends. I want my fans to think about the good times they have had and the future memories that will be made.”
Originally from Lowell, Michigan, a small town with two stop lights that was known as “the farm town” to neighboring cities, Moore grew up surrounded by music.
Moore says, “I grew up in a very musical family, helping with praise and worship in church for as long as I can remember.”
Moore’s father, who gave up his dream of a music career to provide for his family, imparted his love and knowledge of music to his children, teaching them to play instruments as soon as they could hold one. Jordan Moore demonstrated an immediate affinity for the guitar and singing into the microphone.
Later, during his last year of college, Moore and his brother-in-law, along with a couple of friends, started a rock band, Sargent Avenue. Michigan radio station, WGRD 97.9 played the band’s music, while news station WOOD TV 8 put the band in the spotlight. Before long, Sargent Avenue was at MTV’s EXIT concert in Thailand, playing for crowds of over 15,000 people, to raise awareness for Traffic Jam, an organization that tries to put an end to human trafficking.
Now a father himself, Jordan and his wife Beth have three children. And like his father, Jordan wants to pass down his love for music to his children.
“Damn Good Time” opens on a thick, country-rock-flavored intro, flowing into a melody gleaming with resonant guitars. Moore’s evocative voice, rich and slightly scratchy imbues the lyrics with muscular vibrancy, revealing the excitement and anticipation of getting together with friends for a “damn good time.”
A wonderfully authentic song, “Damn Good Time” finds Jordan Moore shaping and revealing the mood of a carefree Southern country party.
