Texas Hippie Coalition (THC) boasts the sound of “Red Dirt Metal” (the term “Red Dirt” music often refers to North Texas/Southern Oklahoma Outlaw Country music) and as I was told by THC founding member “Big Dad Rich”, it is a movement – not a sound.
So who is THC? Simple – good ol’ North Texas boys (with one “Okie” who snuck in) with big attitudes, big sound, and Texas-sized everything. These guys are smarter than your everyday Armadillo also… with the knowledge that a show should include bands of all kinds on one stage and should give the audience a little bit of everything. When you see a THC tour roll through, expect the unexpected.
This is just some of what was discussed with me, Mischievous Mel and Rockwell Anderson after THC took the stage at Welcome to Rockville and blew away the crowd of thousands. These guys are authentic – from guns to music and ink and all things in between, get some THC right now!
