Ohio Rockers, Eternal Void, are gearing up for an incredible chapter within their musical ride as their official Tragic Hero Records album debut, ‘Catharsis’, is set to release on March 2nd, 2018. Showcasing their diverse range and ability to mix heavy breakdowns with soothing ambient transitions fluidly, Eternal Void has set themselves apart from the crowd and continue to garner attention for their unique creative approach. I caught up with Drummer, Dylan Krebs, to discuss the bands gratitude for their fans, the upcoming release, never giving up on your dreams, tattoos and more.
Let’s start off with a bang. As you guys have released your latest single, “With Time,” is there a new album in the works?
Our single, ”With Time”, is off our upcoming Tragic Hero Records debut, ‘Catharsis’. Right when the label first heard this record, they loved it so much they wanted to put it in front of a much bigger audience by re-releasing the album with new elements that weren’t on the original.
What is the most meaningful song that you have written so far throughout your time as a band? What does it personally mean to you?
Definitely the new single “Suspended Animation.” This is one of the new tracks on ‘Catharsis’ that we believe really reflected the sound we have locked in as a band. Personally, it somewhat paints a picture and sums up the journey of our career to this point and tells it in an abstract way.
Any upcoming tour or festival appearance plans that you can fill us in about?!
We’ve been working closely with the label and have a lot of things in the works right now. We’re definitely going to be hitting the pavement hard once the album is out on March 2nd, 2018!
How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?
I’d probably be 18 or 19. Old enough to understand the world for what it is, but still young enough that the world has a certain level of “newness” to it, if that makes sense!
Congrats on joining the Tragic Hero family. Tell us about some your labelmates that you are excited to hear new releases from in 2018.
Thank you! We are really looking forward to hearing The Afterimage’s new album. We have been fans of those guys for a while now. We are also interested in seeing where Invent Animate goes with a new voice. Their sound is already so polished and astounding and we know we’ll be impressed when they return.
Let’s talk tattoos. Tell us about some of your favorite tattoo styles.
We all have a different taste when it comes to tattoos. For example, Evan (Guitarist/Vocalist) likes more grayscale or black and white detailed portrait type pieces, while Logan (Vocalist) favors more colorful, watercolor styled pieces.
If you could exist as a character of your favorite video game for one day, who would you choose and why?
We are all gamers but play different styles. As a whole, each one of us would pick someone from a first-person shooter. It would be a tough choice between Master Chief, Solid Snake, or Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid!
What is some of the greatest wisdom that you have ever received throughout your time as a musician that you can pass along?
Don’t ever give up. Never stop learning and improving your craft. We have met so many musicians along the years that have unfortunately let life get in the way of their dreams. It does bum us out, yet it gives us the motivation to continue on with our passion and achieve higher levels of success.

What is your perception of the current state of Metal?
From being inside the scene and also as a fan, things seem healthy. There are always going to be ups and downs in any genre, but there’s a lot of good music out there right now and the strength of the metal community is always getting stronger.
Last but certainly not least, any closing messages for your fans?!
We truly cannot thank everyone enough who has stuck with us all of these years and for their love and support. Thinking back to when we first started, we would be absolutely nowhere if it was not for our fans.
