8 Zero Ink Gallery opened shop in Midvale almost three years ago, after owner/artist Isaac Luck got fed up with working under unprofessional management. With the input of his peers and fellow tattoo artists, he decided to create an environment that is easy going, laid back yet very professional and motivated.
The team of tattoo artists at 8 Zero 1 each have their own area of expertise. Luck has been tattooing professionally for five years; he is a black and grey and lettering specialist. His right-hand man for the last two and a half years, Goofy, specializes in neo-traditional tattooing; bold lines, colors with new school elements. Chich, who apprenticed at 8 Zero 1 Ink gallery, has been there since day one and takes on the majority of the color realism requests. Nico Romero has been on board for the last year and a half tattooing a lot of traditional imagery.
Artist Jesse Herrera, who has been tattooing for five years, and is known for his black and grey realism as well as portraiture. Luke and Austin Riley round out the operation with their versatile abilities to tackle anything from new school to custom lettering. It’s pretty apparent that the 8 Zero 1 Ink Gallery crew gels together and feed off of each other’s creativity.
Their tight-knit group always has a great time together, but know that above all else, it’s their approach to their clientele that stands out and keeps them running. No drama, family oriented, diverse and welcoming to all walks of life that want to get tattooed, 8 Zero 1 Ink seem to be in it for the right reasons.
