Music directly conveys the mysterious power to affect our equilibrium, thoughts, and movement. Creative innovators engaging in enticingly dense, magnetically dark and utterly captivating mature displays of musical craft blithely seduce listeners as sound seeps under their skin and leaves a penetrating mark on their being.
If you’re a fan of early Massive Attack, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps and UNKLE, then HundredMillionThousand is the dose of Electronic/Hip-Hop refreshment that you are seeking. Entrancing from the first second with excellent mixing/mastering and a unique touch over opener, “Yalda”, HundredMillionThousand offers his soul with a cool bass sound over echoing vocals that entrance listeners into the album’s second track, “Rescue Feeling”, featuring the fast breakout vocals of Cab’ral that add a laidback Hip-Hop vibe that is reminiscent of a project that Tricky would partake in. Upping the volume of climaxes, HundredMillionThousand provides the impeccably rich healing benefits through the power of resonance over the album’s third track, “Serbians”.
Lacing in the trance-inducing voice and vocals of Kurai, ‘lp1’ picks up over the fifth track, “Exalted”, which sounds tribal and mysterious while adding a nice variety and perfectly placed turning point to the album that would glow in a Berlin club at night. Embracing a candid sense of vulnerability over the sixth track, “Tunnelism”, Kurai digs deep into his shadow self while HundredMillionThousand compliments with a deep club-oriented vibe that builds nicely.
Cab’ral is back to lay down vocals over the album’s last three tracks, “Magic”, “Flamingo” and “Cathedral”, that are all well structured and leave listeners with the vibe that Cab’ral fits right into the project with an effect that is dazzling. Not once does the album fall out of balance and flow, and it is shocking that this is HundredMillionThousands first project, as he truly stuns and leaves chills down listeners spines over debut album, ‘lp1’.
Keep an eye out for the Limited Edition Vinyl release of HundredMillionThousand’s ‘lp1’ coming at ya on April 8th. 2017.
