Since 1992 “The boys from the South” side of San Diego, CA have been blazing their own trail through the darkness that is the music industry. Through all of these years, they’ve never been fearful of creating new pathways or lighting the way for others, either through mentoring emerging artists or counseling their legendary peers battling their own personal demons. Nothing they’ve earned has come easy because nothing earned is given.
For the past few years we’ve had the honor of getting to know one of music and life’s most genuine, selfless, giving, and strongest people we’ve ever known – Mr. Sonny Sandoval, lead vocalist for Payable On Death (P.O.D.). Recently when the band was finishing up their headlining tour with In This Moment, Islander, & Ded, we were given the opportunity to catch up with Sonny on board the band’s tour bus. Besides telling about his tattoos, Sonny talks in depth with ‘Mischievous Mel’ about making new music, the importance of radio, and his thoughts on the music industry.
