Sitting on the Anthrax tour bus and having a sit down with Scott Ian at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwakuee, Wisconsin was truly one of the most surreal moments in our lives. Rockwell Anderson and myself were born and raised in the cornfields of Wisconsin and The Rave was a venue from our childhood where we cut our teeth on live shows and forged our passion for music. Many years later, this is where we go full circle in our life of music.
We’re not just fans anymore, but we’re now (and have been for many years), in the music media business interviewing one of the bands we saw as fans nearly two decades ago. The circle has been looped. This is important because we talk with founding member and “The Guy” from Anthrax, Scott Ian, about his life on the road, what it is like to be a dad, husband, and a legendary rock star. “This is the first time it is just me and my son touring without mom Pearl. Pearl was on the road with her band and we asked our son who he wanted to go on the road with and he said, dad. Logistically it was different and hard, but we figured it out.” Take a listen as Scott talks more about life on the road, their latest album “For All Kings”, and why he wants to get more Bob Tyrrell ink with Rockwell Anderson, on board the Anthrax tour bus.
