David Beckham is a retired professional football (for those in the United States, that would be soccer) player, businessman, actor, spokesperson, and model. He’s played for Manchester, United Preston, North End, Real Madrid, Milan, Paris, Saint-Germaine, LA Galaxy, and the England National Football team. Another well known attribute of Beckham’s is his tattoos. Memorable times in his life and tough times are represented in ink on most of his body. The parts of his body with the most ink are his arms, sides, and chest.
On his left hand, is the word “Love”, tattooed in script writing with a small swallow to the left of the word.
On his upper left arm, Beckham got a six-inch pin-up tattoo of his wife Victoria in sexy lingerie, in his favorite Brigitte Bardot style.
In 1999, David got his firstborn’s name “Brooklyn” tattooed on his lower back in gothic script. The tattoo is in an arch.
When Beckham’s grandfather, Joe West, passed away, he got a black and gray tattoo of the painting, “The Man of Sorrow” as tribute. The tattoo is of Jesus on his way to being crucified.
During the 2004 UEFA Championships, David got a four by six inch, Gothic-style cross with detailed Angel wings going from ear to ear on the back of his neck.
Right at the base of David’s neck is his daughter’s name “Harper” writtin in feminine script ink.
On the left side, going down from his armpit to his hip is a brush-style Chinese proverb tattoo. The Chinese letters translate to, “ Death and life have determined appointments. Riches and honor depend upon Heaven.”
David got a tattoo for his wife Victoria in Sanskrit on the inside of his left arm. In Sanskrit, it translates to “Vihctoria”.
On his right wrist, is the anniversary date of his and Victoria’s anniversary. The tattoo says VII.V.MMVI, which represents the date, May 8, 2006. The roman numerals VII on his forearm represent his jersey number for when he played for Manchester United.
On his upper back is his second son’s name “Romeo” above his guardian angel tattoo’s head. The tattoo touches from wing to wing and arches above in a Gothic script.
In July 2009, Beckham got a tattoo of ten roses surrounding his left arm as a gift for his and his wife’s tenth anniversary.
In 2004, David got a large angel tattoo on his upper right arm to signify that he got past a troubling affair and his marriage with his wife is stronger because of it. Along with the angel tattoo is the saying “In the face of adversity” on top of it.
On David’s 6th wedding anniversary he and his wife got matching Hebrew tattoos each saying, “I am my Beloved and my Beloved is mine.”
On David’s right arm along with his angel tattoo is are the words “Let Them Hate as Long as they Fear” and below those words are “Pray for me.”
David has a couple of cherub tattoos on his right bicep and also has one on his left arm representing his three sons. Along with the cherub is a saying, “My son, do not forget my teachings but keep my commands in your heart.”
Above the Brooklyn tattoo is his youngest son’s name “Cruz”. He had the tattoo in the same Gothc style and arch as the Brooklyn tat.
On his left arm, near the shoulder, is a renaissance image of Cupid carrying his wife Psyche up to heaven.
On his right hand, is his wife’s name “Victoria” written in elegant script font with a sparrow beside it.
On his upper left chest, is a portrait of Jesus being lifted from his tomb by three cherubs. Each represents his three sons taking care of Beckham when he’s older and will no longer be able to take care of himself.
David first got a tattoo of a bald figure with his arms outstretched to represent the idea of a “free spiit.” He later got wings tattooed so that the figure is made into a guardian angel to “look over” for his boys.
The latin phrase on his right arm underneath the Roman numerals, VII, is the Latin phrase, “Perfectio in Spritu”, meaning “Spiritual Perfection.” The Latin phrase on his left arm says, “Ut Amem Et Foveam,” which means “So that I love and cherish.”
On David’s left ribcage is the tattoo “1975” that represents his birthdate. Another tattoo that’s underneath the “1975” tattoo and to the left of the Chinese proverb, are the words “Mum and Dad” in black, elegant script for his parents. On his right ribcage, is a mysterious quote or passage from the bible that no one seems to know the meaning to.
On his right hand below his “Victoria” tattoo are the words “Dream big, be Unrealistic” inked in elegant cursive. The words were inspired by a phrase said by Jay-Z during one of his tours in L.A.
On his left hand is the word, “Leading Love” thats written in cursive underneath his tattoo “Love” with the small swallow on the side.
