Every day, publicists send us press material on new bands, projects, and emerging artists. When we’re asked to interview bands we’ve never seen perform live, we’re always a bit skeptical because a slick video or track can often mask the lack of real talent. In our opinion, the only way a band can prove it has true talent is through their live performance.
We took a shot at VYCES before seeing them live for 3 reasons:
1.) We trust their publicist
2.) They’ll be touring with bands we know have talent
3.) They were playing the same night and venue where another band we were interviewing (Art of Dying) was performing.
What you won’t see in the following interview is the overwhelmingly awesome performance they put on later that evening. What you will hear is what the band is about, when and where you can experience them live, who got inked on one of the biggest tattoo shows on television (by one of the biggest ink slingers in the biz), and other need-to-know info on one of our new favorite bands that will certainly be on at least one of our “Best of 2016” lists.
