Nationally-renowned Blues Rock duo, Kris Heaton Band, are no strangers to praise when it comes to their blistering country rock flavor catching the eyes, ears, and minds of fans worldwide. The duo’s latest release, ‘World Gone Mad’, kicks off with an old-school Rock vibe over the opening and lead track, “Who Let The Bullets Fly”, which mimics the vocal style of Tom Petty while the bluegrass groove strums listeners into thoughts of blue skies and good times.
The second title track, “World Gone Mad”, begins with smooth instrumentals serving as a doorway into a stimulating lyrical delivery highlighting how the trivial aspects of life are being overshadowed by what’s truly important within. “When We Danced” is the third track which infuses Rock with Country and Blues melodies with introspective and reflective lyrics pertaining to a connection that has been buried in the past yet has been left hanging on the walls of the mind of Kris Heaton.
The fourth track, “Something New”, takes the album on a lyrical turn as Kris evidently is going through the stages of disconnection as he waxes and wanes through desiring both an individual from the past and someone entirely new. “When The Sun Goes Down” is the sixth track which begins with the serene harmonica leading to romanticized thoughts and longing for a deeper interpersonal relation and devotion with a certain and special lover.
The seventh track, “Drink to the Girls”, kicks the album up a notch and serves as the perfect track to play at a bar to inspirit the energy of the crowd and send listeners to the dance floor. “One Thin Line” is the ninth track which begins with burning passion which leads to a humbling chorus telling the truth about how we every human being is alive for a short time and it’s their choice to lead the life that they desire before their inevitable death.
Closing out the album with “Better World”, Kris Heaton Band gracefully preaches about how believing in yourself will ultimately lead you toward perceiving the world as a better and more fulfilling place.
