Meet A Killers Confession (AKC), a brand new project straight from the shadows in the night featuring former Mushroomhead lead vocalist Waylon Reavis, Jon Dale on drums, JP Cross on bass, with Matt Trumpy and Paul Elliott handling the twin axes.
A Killer’s Confession has found a home on the EMP label, founded by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson. What can you expect from this new band and their debut album “Unbroken”? The album is equivalent to riding a runaway train into maniacal madness, taking the listener on a voyage of the darkest and most tragic side of humanity.
“Feel my pain. Through your eyes. It’s self-sustaining. Hypnotic yet vein. I see your lies. And it justifies this ire in flames. It entertains the darkest part of me.” These lyrics not only paint a picture, they put you in the diseased mind, black heart, and empty soul of a madman. Yet the song has a dark beauty to it.
This is just a taste of what the album “Unbroken” has is store for you the listener.
Life of the Lost (L.O.L) is brutal, angry, and elegantly sums up “Life of the Lost”. I have to say this has to be my favorite cut on the album. In true Wayland style, this song entered my ear-holes and exploded like a supernova from the start.
“I lost myself today. I flipped my time away. What I’d give to find my own way.” Those are some of the lyrics from 1080P. Powerful not only vocally but lyrically this song grabs not only the listener by the balls but by the heart as well. It as asks questions that weigh on the soul as well as the mind. I love the way that A Killers Confession has found a way to not only provoke a mosh pit but also provoke thoughts and feelings on a deeper level than just basic instincts.
Well done, A Killers Confession. You nailed it right out of the gate. For all of you who need a copy of this morbidly magnificent album, CLICK HERE. You can also see the band live out on tour now with Nonpoint through June 9th. Check their website for tour dates, new releases, and more.
As always, don’t take my word for it. Take a listen and hear for yourself why this album is 10 out of 10 horns on the ROCKwell UnScene horn scale. \m/
