As next-level anchors of the bands that they have graced with their otherworldly skill-sets, it was apparent that the combination of utter mastery was bound to come to life when the announcement of a collaboration of a lifetime would be taking place at The 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards powered by Monster. Blending the artistic brilliance of three of the most impactful drummers of our time, No Doubt/Dreamcar, Sum 41 and Twenty One Pilots magicians with the sticks, Adrian Young, Frank Zummo and Josh Dun, came together for a pulsating once in a lifetime spectacle that invigorated chills up the spines of viewers worldwide. I had the honor of chatting with both Adrian and Frank prior to their performance about working hard to produce results, bringing to life Dreamcar and more.
It is evident that you both have maintained your position in the game and have dabbled into multiple creative endeavors over the years. Tell us some words of wisdom for up and coming musicians desiring to follow in your footsteps.
Adrian – Work as hard as you possibly can. Don’t take anything for granted.

Isn’t that the truth?! Adrian, tell us about bringing your latest project, DREAMCAR, to life.
Adrian – I am so proud of DREAMCAR. We met Davey Havok of AFI for a meal and we instantly began chatting about trying to experiment. Before you knew it, it turned into a band. Our next single, “All of the Dead Girls”, is coming out this week and we are going to be out promoting the single and playing some festivals. We are going to be playing Life Is Beautiful in Vegas and we have some California shows in a few weeks!
Incredible! What a backstory for fans to soak up. Tell us about the performance that you have going on tonight here at The 2017 Journey’s Alternative Press Music Awards powered by Monster.
Frank – We are going to have so much fun. We have already had such a blast! I mean, three drummers going completely insane for five minutes, can’t beat it.
