To the foodie at heart. Food is not only a necessary part of life due to our need for sustenance and energy, but it is also a social element that tends to bring people together. Many people greatly enjoy food, and some people even build their entire careers around it by becoming chefs, food critics, or even taste testers. Food is something that everyone can relate to because everybody eats.
Pizza, cupcakes, pickles, cookies, veggies, and fruit… are you hungry yet? While some people wouldn’t get a food tattoo, there are many who love their favorite so much that they decide to get it inked on their bodies forever. There are some cute, fun, quirky, and awesome food tattoos out there. I’ve chosen some to feature, and these tattoos just might jolt your appetite for a snack or a tattoo.
This adorable pair of anthropomorphic milk and a cookie is pretty sweet. The simplicity of the design works well for this tattoo, and it’s super cute to see this classic pairing holding hands. This slice of pizza by Silje is well executed and appetizing. The melting cheese makes this tattoo all the better, and I know from my extensive experience working in pizza places that pepperoni and mushroom are one of the most popular topping combinations. There are very few people who don’t like pizza, and this is a great tattoo. (http://www.tattoosbysilje.com/)
Cupcakes are a delightful treat and have for some reason become a very popular tattoo. My guess is because cupcakes can be customized to each person’s preferences and there are many ways to design a cupcake tattoo. I love this realistic cupcake. This clever take on a food tattoo is creative and ingenious. Instead of having a bowl of hummus that would likely be asked about over and over, this person decided to get the ingredients for hummus. Excellent idea and execution of this tattoo. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/sylviels/3351204111/)
People have been getting cherry tattoos for quite a long time, but this design is more unique than just the traditional image of two connected cherries. I love the use of skull and crossbones as the cherries. (http://www.deviantart.com/art/Cherries-117245135)
Sushi is my absolute favorite food, and while I don’t know that I’d ever get it tattooed on myself, I do love many of the sushi tattoos out there. This lovely foot tattoo features sushi in a pretty setting and makes for a great piece of body art. (http://f1n1x.deviantart.com/art/Sushi-Tattoo-373604564
Absolutely amazing and realistic, these fruits and vegetables look good enough to pick and eat. Done by Mirek vel Stotker (https://www.flickr.com/photos/stotker/).
Bacon. Bacon with a top hat, mustache, monocle, and cane. ‘Nuff said. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/auroramehndihenna/9113905910)
