Here is a technique that’s called branding. It’s pretty much exacty what it sounds like, and this is what it looks like when it’s fresh and healing.
Scarification is where actual pieces of flesh are carved out of the wearer. This is dangerous mainly because of the high risk for infection. This is what it looks like when it’s still fresh.

Not sure what this is called, or even how common this is, but the teeth are exposed (there is a piece of clear plastic covering the hole, so it is not completely exposed. This is dangerous for risk of infection because you literally take a huge chunk of your face clear off.
