InkFest Live Kicks Off the Only Urban Tattoo Expo in Charlotte, NC

InkFest Live will kick off their 2010 tour May 28 - 30, 2010 at the Cabbarus Arena, just outside of Charlotte, NC. The event promises to be a unique urban expo featuring the leading tattoo artists from around the world, with live graffiti demonstrations, musical performances from some of today's hottest recording artists, DJ battles, custom cars and bikes and all the latest trends from the concrete jungle. This is not your typical tattoo expo!

This three-day event captures the heart of today's urban street scene.

The festival is held outside of Bangkok, Thailand at the Temple Wat Bang Phra. Many attendees go into trances and act out special powers bestowed on them as bearers of the sacred Sak Yant tattoos.

Tattoo artists might want to check this out, because this style looks like it might catch on in permanent ink, as more and more women recognize the beauty of tattoo body art.

The temporary tattoos, packaged under the name Les Trompe L'Oeil de Chanel make for a sexy, elegant look for the ladies.

The daughter of heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne looked chic and slim, but the word is Kelly regrets getting her ink done and is looking to eventually have some tattoo removal done.

Kelly has 11 tattoos, including:
1. A skull and crossbones on top of both of her feet.

This week our staff here at tattoo.com noticed an increase in popularity of sexy tattoos. More tattoo enthusiasts are uploading pictures of their sexy tattoos to the web site, with Valentine's Day just around the corner.

Tattoo.com's street team called a number of tattoo shops to see if more customers are requesting tattoos to express their love for Valentine's Day, or buying gift certificates for their significant others.

"We get requests for tattoos with one half of the image on each person. So, when the couple holds their tattoos together you see the complete picture."

Tattoos as permanent advertising…..

Some people may remember TatAd from 2004. Their innovative approach to advertising with Tattoos on the human body became a short lived fad. With the help of TatAd, companies put 'branded' Tattoo logos on people.

The tattoo designs were sometimes blatant ads. Other times, a logo would be woven into a butterfly tattoo or a stream of dragon and cross tattoos.
