5. Mike Devries is the owner and tattoo artist at MD Tattoo Studio in Northridge California. He has been tattooing professionally since 2003. Why you should know him: His specialty is color realism, especially with a love for wildlife and portraits. Fantasy elements mixed in with his specialty are seamless, as some of his more eye catching tattoos are very surreal. He is a master at most styles, including Asian, realism, fantasy, with black and gray and color.

Cheryl Cole may not be the most famous celebrity on this list, but with a tattoo like THAT, she definitely deserves to be recognized.

Megan Fox is well known for being inked and for going through the ink removal process. This one seems to have lasted though.

Celebrities are at the forefront of fashion and pop culture trends, which of course includes tattoos. Actors, musicians, models and other celebrities influence tattoo trends and shape what is acceptable and become mainstream in our society. Rock stars have often gotten tattoos because ink has long been a symbol of rebelliousness and non conformity. Just like the rest of us, celebrities want to express their uniqueness and who they really are and wear it on their sleeve (or back, thigh, neck, legs, or wherever).
