The lower back has little fat, which means the tattoos themselves will not be subject to stretching or change with weight gain or loss. It's also a very easy place to hide a tattoo when necessary. The lower back is a very sexy part of the woman's body, which has lead to the idea that lower back tattoos are sexy in nature. Because of this, the lower back tattoo has been associated with promiscuity. The nick name "tramp stamp" stems from this.
