Up until the late '90s black ink was pretty much the only tattoo ink color available. Since then many new ink colors were invented and full color tattoo designs have become a popular option. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean that your next tattoo should be done in color. Portraits, tribal and old school designs may look better when done in black ink. Black tattoo designs make a bolder statement and are quicker, less painful and less expensive to get done.
