Another year of Florida’s loudest and largest Rock festivals, the annual Welcome to Rockville festival in Jacksonville, FL, is now in the books, and like every year, it was bigger and better than the year before.
One of the best parts of our #WTR19 experience was catching Badflower, Beartooth, and SHVPES perform acoustic sets as part of the #ZippoSessions
Not everything was sunshine and unicorns, because Mother Nature reared her ugly “just woke up with a bad hangover” head, canceling performances by several bands due to her wrath (in the form of torrential rain and lightning). Just rain would’ve been okay, but the lightning forced the evacuation of the grounds on a couple of occasions for safety purposes.
For #MischievousMel and myself, Welcome to Rockville is one of most enjoyable festivals because every year since 2015 we’ve had the honor of working with photographer Sonya Whitley, allowing Mel and me the opportunity to focus on interviewing bands. Over the next week or so, you’ll be seeing our interviews with: Wilson, Zeal & Ardor, Beartooth, Crobot, Hands Like Houses, Killswitch Engage, Movements, Wage War, Boston Manor, SHVPES, Dead Girls Academy, The Glorious Sons, Light the Torch, and While She Sleeps. Until the next time you stop by to check out all of these interviews, please enjoy the following pics by Sonya Whitley.
