We had previously heard of The Funeral Portrait but had never seen them perform until they took the stage at the 2nd Annual #INKCARCERATION Festival in Mansfield, OH.
One of the reasons we had heard of the band, other than from a publicist or label rep, was because their bassist Robert Weston has been doing double duty the past few years working with From Ashes to New, a band that we’ve interviewed several times and photographed many more, as their tour manager. This time, however, Robert’s band and first priority were playing INKCARCERATION and getting ready to embark on a tour with From Ashes to New (who were also playing INKCARCERATION).
Having an established connection with Robert, you might think he’s the guy we would interview. If you did, you would be wrong. Again, we had never seen The Funeral Portrait live, so we did our due diligence, watched their amazing performance, and then spoke to their lead vocalist Lee Jennings. He and #MischievousMel talk about all things The Funeral Portrait, Lee’s tattoos, fan tattoos, and more in this must-see interview with the frontman of a must-see band. Click to watch it here
