When's the last time you took a really objective, critical look at your portfolio? It's a simple process that takes a bit of time but can make a world of difference. A stellar portfolio can get you more sales. An artist's portfolio is their first impression to your potential clients. Every time you place a bid, you must realize there's a good chance that the customer is going to take a look at your portfolio. This is what they will see first. So what are they seeing? Make sure that only your best pieces of work that truly represent you as an artist are visible. Make sure your first and last piece are very strong. To rearrange your photos, click on a photo, and choose to edit. Then in the advanced settings you can set the priority and create the order you'd like. Your portfolio is only as strong as its weakest piece. Keep that in mind.
Make sure your images are clean and clear. You do not want your images to be pixelated! Feel free to add a small watermark that won't be distracting from the image, but will be discouraging for others to try and steal it. This is also a good way to advertise and make a name for yourself. Think of your portfolio as a job interview. Would you show up in your pajamas or would you "dress for success?" It's the same with your portfolio. Show you are a professional!
Why would you want to stop bidding and spend time reevaluating your portfolio? To get more sales of course! If your portfolio is amazing, the chances are higher that they will fund the project and also that you will be picked as the winner! If you have an outstanding portfolio and requesters start requesting YOU specifically, how many sales could that translate to? Need some help improving your portfolio?
