Music, Ink, and cars are the trifecta of epic, and it is also MUSINK in a nutshell. Day 1 of the 2017 version of this annual festival, St. Patricks Day, kicked off the shenanigans at the OC fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. Travis Barker of Blink 182 fame and one of the architects behind the scenes, has made this event what it is in part by putting his own name on it and bringing artists of all sorts together in one location for a truly unique experience.
So what was Day 1 of MUSINK all about? With 2 halls filled with the best ink artists in the tattoo world, there was no shortage of finding that perfect tatt done by that perfect artist. The ink artist roster included Black Anchor’s Nikko Hurtado, 6 Feet Under Tattoo, Corey Miller, Shamrock Social Club, Bob Tyrrell, Freddy Negrete, Big Gus, and much more.
If cars are your thing MUSINK has you covered. With vintage cars, custom cars, and pimped out motorcycles with values ranging from $500k – $700k, there was no shortage of cars or in Travis Barker’s words “works of art” to get you motor running and your blood pumping.
Want to get your music on? Then MUSINK had the lineup for you. Kicking off day 1 of the 3-day festival was A Wilhelm Scream, Lagwagon, The Vandals, and NOFX. The hanger at the OC Fairgrounds was wall to wall with fans from the first set to the last.
To recap: MUSINK offers tattoos, cars and music. You can get a tattoo, you can get swag, you can do meet and greets, you can check out vendor and food village, you can get a piercing, you can take part in the tattoo contest and more. This event is an all ages and family event and there was no shortage of families at this festival. Stay tuned for more coverage!
