It’s hard to believe its been almost a week since the mass shooting at Orlando nightclub “Pulse”. As we continue to feel the rippling effects of this tragic event, many celebrities have vowed to prove that love will always be greater than hate.
With the Los Angeles Pride Parade taking place in West Hollywood the same weekend, Kelly Osbourne took to the streets with a sign showing her support for anyone affected by the attack on the LGBT community. The 31-year-old also had the word “solidarity” written in black marker on the right side of her partially shaved head.
It seems that just as the marker ink was fading, the reality TV star decided it was time to make the message a more permanent one. The new tattoo, done in typewriter print shows just a simple word, which Kellie captioned with “Solidarity: ‘Noun. Unity of feeling of individuals with a common interest or purpose.’ Individually, we have rights and unique gifts. Together, we have strength and powerful harmony”.
Kelly confessed that she has wanted to get “solidarity” tattooed on her head for some time now but after the Orlando tragedy she knew that it was time to remind everyone that they are not alone. That through love and respect we can “achieve what is impossible to those who stand alone”.
This isn’t the first time the fashion designer has had her head tattooed. In fact, on the opposite side of her head in the same print shows the word “stories”. Stories was inked in 2014 by the famous Dr. Woo at Shamrock Social Club and dedicated to the release of her new fashion line. Both tattoos obviously mean a lot to the British songwriter but her new tattoo is truly a symbol of unity and strength in such a trying time.
