Wisconsin-based rock outfit The Almas unveils their latest single/music video, “Lifeline,” a track that finds the band more uninhibited and confident than ever. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Kile Odell, “Lifeline” swaggers with audacity.
Poised on the precipice of going big-time, The Almas are made up of Crystal Teigland (lead vocals), Frank Slifka (lead guitar), Josh Sukowski (guitar), and Andrew Ehredt (drums).
Lead guitarist Frank Slifka says,“It’s a banger! Sick riffs and awesome licks. ‘Lifeline’ was the first song written in the studio to start us in our new Era. This is the song we’ve been waiting this entire release cycle for.”
Vocalist Crystal Tiegland adds, “Our most explosive video yet! ‘Lifeline’ is everything we dreamed it would be. We are strong advocates for mental health awareness, as well as supporting our veterans through Rock 2 Stop 22, so we wanted this song and music video to reflect that support. The camera work alone by Austin, mixed with Spencer’s creative eye for VFX and editing came together perfectly to execute this vision.”
After forming in 2016, The Almas dropped their self-titled EP, followed by two long players, Back To Bad and Truth Sells. The Almas shared the stage with Saliva, Slipknot, Ice Nine Kills, Falling In Reverse, Buckcherry, Royal Bliss, Saving Abel, Eva Under Fire, and toured with Smile Empty Soul.
“Lifeline” rolls out on distant, emerging tones flowing into grinding guitars dropping into a shimmering bridge topped by Tiegland’s electrifying voice, the kind of voice Hayley Williams wishes she had, powerful and wickedly expressive. Ehredt’s late-stage percussive pops give the rhythm a primeval touch that’s famously edgy.
The highlight of “Lifeline” is the visceral yet oh-so-melodic voice of Tiegland, best described as goddess-like merged with intense temptation.
Harnessing a massive rush of full-sized passion, “Lifeline” sees The Almas elevating their sound to astonishing levels of stylish muscularity.
