Louisiana hard rock/nu metal band SevVven releases the title track from their upcoming album, Don’t Panic, slated to drop September 27 via Wake Up! Music Rocks, the stellar indie label led by Pepper Gomez.
SevVven’s lineup comprises Josh Valdivieso (vocals), Ant Jones (guitar), Jessie Hoda (guitar), Tanner Istre (bass), and Katt Lee (drums).
When first formed, the band included Valdivieso and Jones, who released their debut single, “All I Need Is You (Old Version),” in 2020, followed by a series of singles, including “Falling,” featuring Krizz Kaliko, which hit the 18th slot on Billboard’s Rock Indicator Chart.
Talking about how SevVven expanded into the present lineup, Valdivieso told Krieg Marks, “It took a long while to get solid members that had the same goals and inspiration as Ant and I. We’ve gone through a couple other guitarists, bassists, and drummers to find the lineup we’re at today. Ant and I are the only original members but Jessie, Tanner, and Katt are just as much of SevVven as Ant and I.”
Later, SevVven reshaped “All I Need Is You,” which hit number 23 on Billboard’s Rock Indicator Chart. In 2022, they released “Woe Is Me,” produced by Myles Clayborne, who also played on the track. SevVven signed with Wake Up! Music Rocks, followed by releasing “Cold,” “Shed Your Skin,” “Awakened,” “Cannibals,” and “Mother.”
Mastered by Ted Jensen, “Don’t Panic” opens with an ominous, digital voice, followed by the entrance of thick, frayed wire guitars segueing into a nu metal melody topped by Valdivieso’s passion-filled vocals. On the chorus, the harmonics rise to heavy, gleaming surfaces. A fierce bridge, brimming with snarling, muscular guitars, leads into a wicked solo section. A resonant, melodic outro closes the song with grand energy.
Sonically complex and drenched in monster riffs, “Don’t Panic” reveals superb production along with ebbing and rising intensity.
