“Love Me If You Must,” the latest single/lyric video from ET Boys, is a love song emblematic of the contemporary world, and follows their recently released “Until Forever,” which took the top spot on Digital Radio Tracker’s independent charts.
ET Boys’ relationship with nu-pop and melodic rap music approaches the magical, and most likely stems from their upbringing – the two Latino brothers grew up immersed in music and surrounded by artists.
Based in South Florida, ET Boys introduced themselves to the world on their debut single, “Sober,” a nu-pop banger blending in additional elements of indie-rock and hip-hop-lite. “Sober” immediately established the pair as predestined for stardom.
The brothers – Tacboy and Sharkeyes – merge their gifts into music typified by a variety of genres, meaning their sound reveals a multiplicity of aspects. Their songs don’t sound the same. Yet, and most importantly, listeners can straightaway identify a song as from the ET Boys because of an elusive combination of balance, melodic flow, rhythmic feel, and the lush, voluptuous vocals of Tacboy.
Akin to an erotic Medusa, there’s a lingering, sensual flavor, an aura of luscious carnality to Tacboy’s voice, which, fused with Sharkeyes’ music results in an erotica for dreams sensation, at once subliminal and eloquent.
“Love Me If You Must” opens on a pulsating rhythm rolling into a dreamy, catchy melody. With its rippling sonic textures and shimmering resonance, “Love Me If You Must” summons up vague hints of Post Malone – rolling atop smoldering layers of harmonics as Tacboy’s shifting timbres imbue the lyrics with dimming and crystallizing colors. Luxurious harmonies add gossamer glows and poetic surfaces.
Simultaneously sleek and wonderfully quixotic, “Love Me If You Must” shows off the insane talent and ever-evolving sound of ET Boys.
