As we near the 2016 Presidential election, American citizens– specifically millennials– are under increased pressure to vote. Regardless of your preferred political party, activism that is applied towards bettering one’s homeland is something to be respected and admired. It’s no secret that some candidates–I won’t name names– may not condone such outrageous and rebellious acts as getting tattooed. But bodily freedom is dire. Freedom of speech is essential. Tattooing promotes both, and I think artists will agree.
Followers of Tattoo.com are becoming more familiar with the up-and-coming tattooer known as Lacie Greer. Operating out of Fountain City Tattoo in Kansas City, Missouri, Greer is setting the bar for cross-industry activism. She’s young, talented, driven, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eyes. More than that, she is sparking a movement. Kansas City ink enthusiasts are feeling the heat– or in this case, the “Bern”– as Greer offers $50 pre-designed socialist-inspired as a first come, first served event for walk-ins only. Clients can choose from an elegant “together” text tattoo or the iconic Bernie Sanders black outline.
The all-American political ink and hot dog party will take place on March 15, 2016 at Fountain City Tattoo in Kansas City, and all proceeds will be donated to the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.
Greer and the Fountain City crew encourage everyone to participate and spread the word as the younger generation fights for “togetherness, continued progress, and positive change for years to come.”
