High Class Tattoo in Fresno, California

Published on May 25, 2014 by Jodie Michalak

High Class Tattoo in Fresno, CA is an upscale tattoo studio with exceptional artists that specialize in everything from color work, memorial tattoos, pop culture and realism.

I spoke with tattoo artist and owner Audie Fulfer Jr., about the current changes in the tattooing industry, the most popular body piercing trends, and why he loves his career as a professional tattoo artist.

What tattooing style do you specialize in at High Class Tattoo in Fresno, CA?

Color work realism, pop culture tattoos and comic book art.

What is one of the best changes you have seen in the tattoo industry?

People are becoming more serious about their designs and aren’t just picking tattoo designs off of the wall. They’ve also begun to research and discover the artist that fits, and then have them create something custom for them.

In a few short words describe your tattoo shop:

Quality speaks for itself

What is the most popular piercing trend at High Class Tattoo?

I don’t really follow too much on the body piercing side of things, but I would say it is the Triple Forward Felix piercing.

How do you find new inspirations for your tattoo designs?

I’ll check things out on Pinterest or get inspired from looking at other tattoo images, watching people, and just being influenced by art in general.

What would you consider the biggest challenge in your career:

For me I would say that my biggest challenge is really just trying to please every single person and client that walks through the doors.

What do you love about your career as a professional tattoo artist?

Waking up every day and doing what I love and being able to share my art and my talent with people is the most rewarding.

Describe a time you where you believe your talent truly helped someone?

Well that’s always the case with memorial tattoo pieces, which can really be nerve wracking to do because of their significance.

My most recent story was when I did a tattoo on a woman who had lost her husband in Iraq. When I was finished she went and looked at it (and of course I was on pins and needles the whole time because she just looked at it and didn’t say anything). Finally she just said tearfully, “There’s my husband.”
