Whet Travel’s flagship event Groove Cruise has been around for nearly two decades with many of the cruisers taking part year after year – leading to romance, long-term friends, engagements, and onboard marriage ceremonies.
In 2024, Groove Cruise will celebrate 20 years on the open sea, adventuring from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas from Wednesday, January 24 to Sunday, January 28, 2024. Groove Cruise Miami 2024 will be hosted on the award-winning Norwegian Encore – the largest and most luxurious Groove Cruise ship to date.
Groove Cruise has enlisted world-renowned dance music superstars Tiësto, Diplo, and John Summit to headline the 20th anniversary celebration.
What makes Groove Cruise so unique is that the Whet Foundation nonprofit (501c3) seeks to impact the communities visited by Whet Travel cruises, even inviting cruise attendees to donate and volunteer at their events. The foundation gives back to the communities they visit by providing essential items like clothing, food, school supplies, beach and community cleanups, painting, and art programs, providing facility repair and improvement costs.
Motivated by Groove Cruise, various cruisers have Groove Cruise-inspired ink.
“I started these Groove Cruise tattoos because Groove Cruise embodies everything I stand for. Love, music, and family. I got my first GC tattoo right after my first sailing in 2019. Groove Cruise and my GC Fam will continue to be a part of my life for as long as I live,” says Morgan Brown.
Miggy Mendoza says, “Me, Justin, and Melissa all love GC because it brings all of our friends together and the three of us love working the event, so we decided after Cabo that we wanted to get matching tattoos together and it kind of fits all the doodles I have so it works out ha-ha.”
Justin Broadfoot shares, “I continuously find myself back on groove cruise every year purely because of the people. The energy, positivity, and love for others of all the attendees is truly unmatched. And with the tattoo, we as the staff count down the days every year till we get to work this incredible event together again; so getting a groove cruise tattoo as a group dedicated to this event seemed like a no-brainer!”
“Groove Cruise is everything to us and the GC Family is a real thing. GC is where we met, GC is where we got engaged, and GC is where we will get married in January 2024. That’s why we got matching GC tattoos. #GCFAM,” explains Shelly and Daniel.
While Ty Manivanh sums the experience up, “The Groove Cruise logo tattoo symbolizes the deep connection and shared passion for dance music that my beautiful wife and I have cultivated over the past 27 years of marriage. It represents the joy and excitement that we both feel when attending the best dance festival on the sea and the memories we’ve created together on these journeys. The tattoo serves as a permanent reminder of our love for each other and our commitment to embracing life’s adventures and experiences, even after all these years. It also showcases our individuality and unique bond as a couple, demonstrating our willingness to express ourselves through body art and celebrate our shared interests. Ultimately, the Groove Cruise logo tattoo is a testament to the love, unity, and happiness that dance music and our marriage bring into our lives.”
Groove Cruise 2025 is already scheduled.
