It’s no secret that sex sells, just ask fashion designer Calvin Klein. Since 1968, the American brand has been known for creating intimate marketing campaigns featuring all the cool kids, ranging from model Kate Moss to actor Mark Wahlberg. So it wasn’t really a surprise last January when Justin Bieber was announced as one of the new faces of Calvin Klein underwear. Now it looks like the singer is at it again, teasing us with a brand new shirtless marketing campaign showing off (almost) all his ink.
It might be a little hard for us to “go and love ourselves” when we are too busy admiring Bieber’s tattoo gallery that he so confidently shows off. But the singer didn’t always display his tats with the same pride he does today. In fact, Bieber’s first tattoo was of a seagull on his left hip when he was sixteen years old. Even though the tattoo was considered a family tradition and sported by many other members of the Bieber family, his father still asked friends and family to keep the tattoo a secret.
The Calvin Klein model has come a long way since his first tattoo and has recently added number 53 to the collection, a pair of angel wings on the back of his neck. Most of Justin’s tattoos are full of meaning and bring inspiration to his fans, like his black and white compass on his arm or the small music treble clef tattoo behind his ear. But it looks like not everyone has caught the “Bieber Fever”, some Middle Eastern countries have actually banned the singer’s last album due to the shirtless cover that shows off his large cross tattoo on his chest.
However, it doesn’t seem like Justin Bieber will be saying “sorry” about any of his tattoos anytime soon and we don’t blame him. In fact, since the latest Calvin Klein ad came out last week featuring JB in just his “Calvin’s”, the company has seen a huge increase in underwear sales.
